To our Market Community:
We’re doing our best to keep the CHFM a healthy and safe place for shopping during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Effective Monday, March 7, 2022, Orange County will no longer require masks in public, indoor spaces if key COVID-19 metrics continue to reach medium and low community levels. Masks are not required at our outdoor market.

As always, we will continue to evaluate our mask policy on an ongoing basis. Should circumstances change in the future, we will make changes in response and may reinstate the mask requirement or other protective measures.

We will continue to support anyone who chooses to wear a mask at our market. We still recommend against talking without masks in close proximity. We encourage all customers to be mindful of others while shopping.

We ask you to continue to be respectful towards our vendors, staff, and volunteers. If you have concerns or questions about our mask policy, please reach out to us.

From the Orange County Department of Health:
Why are Some People Still Wearing Masks?
Although Orange County no longer requires masks in public, indoor spaces, many community members are choosing to continue to wear masks in certain situations. Some people may feel anxious about changing their mask usage after years of habit coupled with lingering trauma from the pandemic. As we move into the endemic and public spaces open up more, it will be important to respect each other's choice to mask or not.

Businesses and other organizations can continue to require customers or visitors to wear a mask in their establishments. Federal regulations still require masks in some places, such as long-term care facilities and public transportation including Chapel Hill Transit.

Consider pre-ordering your purchases. Check out our Vendor page for ordering information.

Thank you all for continuing to support the Market: we work very hard every week to make it happen, and your support means more than you know! We look forward to seeing you at market soon.
