Chapel Hill Farmers' Market Dog Policy

Adopted by the Board October 11, 2022, updated April 18, 2023​

We are tentatively modifying our market pet policy to allow well behaved, leashed dogs at the market.

With this privilege, we ask that you keep the following in mind when bringing your dog to market:

• Owners are socially, legally and financially responsible and liable for their pet’s behavior at all times.
• Dogs must be on a non-extendable leash at all times, under control and by your side.
• Keep dogs away from produce, plants and crafts; watch for wagging tails, as well as curious noses.
• Any instances that compromise the safety of others, or market products, will require you to remove your dog.
• Not everyone is a dog lover; please be considerate.
• Please clean up after your dog. 
• Please avoid bringing pets in the summer to reduce exposure to hot asphalt and excessive heat.
• Always ask before petting someone else's dog.    

Multiple unpleasant incidents will result in a return to a no-dog policy.
