Friends of the Market

Food is a source of connection and community. For more than 10 years, the Chapel Hill Farmers’ Market has focused on increasing opportunities for farmers to sell their products directly to consumers. Building healthy food systems strengthen our communities, and our commitment is more steadfast than ever.

When you donate to the Chapel Hill Farmers’ Market, you help sustain our local food economy.

The Market has worked quickly to meet the immediate public health requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the "Friends of the Market Program", we hope to raise funds to continue to manage our needs while improving public health procedures at the market.

Use of funding includes, but are not limited to:

  • increased staff hours
  • informational/directional signage
  • caution tape
  • sanitizer
  • hand washing systems
  • masks
  • gloves

Volunteering at the Market

We're looking for help! SIGN UP HERE

Keeping our farmers market open is essential to our food system. At this time, we need support from our community to perform a few independent tasks to help us take a few extra precautions to keep our market safe.

Saturday Mornings. Please consider signing up for slots to help set up and break down our new hand washing stations, or support monitoring our customer count and social distancing practices.

If you can give of your time, please consider supporting your local farmers, food artisans, and agricultural community.

Check out this video about how to set up the wash stations!

Market Dog Policy:
We love your furry friends as much as you do but sadly, just like other food-related businesses, we cannot allow dogs at market. Please leave your furry friends at home or tie your dog in our shaded picnic area. Thanks for understanding!
