Volunteer at the Chapel Hill Farmer's Market!

Volunteer support is an important part of the Chapel Hill Farmers' Market.
Sign up HERE to volunteer for a few hours Saturday mornings and support local farmers, artisans and agriculture in our community.
You can sign up for an hour to help set up the market tents, signs, traffic cones and barriers, or if you have a few hours you can staff our Market Booth, which requires selling market merchandise, answering customer questions, monitoring the compost drop-off, and handling the SNAP/EBT token sales system.
**TRAINING IS REQUIRED to work at the Market Booth.** Please only sign up for this position if you are able to attend a training session and plan on volunteering consistently. The market manager is available for training only from 9am-10am, and must rely on volunteers to staff the market tent from 10am-noon while attending to other market business. We rely heavily on dedicated volunteers to be present during a very busy time to make sure all our customer needs are being met.
Thank you for volunteering at the Market!

Friends of the Market

Food is a source of connection and community. For more than 10 years, the Chapel Hill Farmers’ Market has focused on increasing opportunities for farmers to sell their products directly to consumers. Building healthy food systems strengthen our communities, and our commitment is more steadfast than ever.

When you donate to the Chapel Hill Farmers’ Market, you help sustain our local food economy.

The Market has worked quickly to meet the immediate public health requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the "Friends of the Market Program", we hope to raise funds to continue to manage our needs while improving public health procedures at the market.

Use of funding includes, but are not limited to:

  • increased staff hours
  • informational/directional signage
  • caution tape
  • sanitizer
  • hand washing systems
  • masks
