To our Market Community:

The Chapel Hill Farmers Market’s goal remains the same week after week: provide for the health and well-being of our community by offering access to food of the highest quality, produced by the best methods, and handled in the safest manner. During the current Coronavirus outbreak shoppers can have confidence that, of the public spaces they may still visit, the Market is one that is responsive in taking additional steps to ensure safety during this evolving situation.
The Market has always been attentive to food safety, and we’ve responded to the current COVID-19 situation with heightened protocols. Our core role remains: provide a safe space for residents to make quick and purposeful trips to get groceries. And our team of vendors are the right professionals to provide food safely.
We have the full support of the Orange County Health Department. They are on board to see that we can remain open as an essential source of food for consumers, and employment for our vendors, during the pandemic. We will continue to work with them, as well as local police and parks department, to facilitate traffic control and maintain all safety precautions.
Market this Saturday:

  • Masks or face coverings are required at the Market.
  • Vendors will be in a single row of tents around the periphery of the parking lot.
  • We will be monitoring the number of customers at market.

Continuing Safety Precautions
  • All vendor tents will be 6 feet away from each other.
  • Get in, get out, and get home!  Quick transactions and a wave means you care!
  • Only one customer or family unit in a tent at a time for social distancing.
  • Please pre-order or pay with a credit card whenever possible. Pre-orders should be picked up after 10am.
  • Market Tokens will be available for those vendors not able to accept credit cards for any reason, and for customers on food assistance, or who don’t have credit cards. We are waiving the $2 fee to purchase market tokens.
  • Avoid touching products you do not intend on buying. Many items will be pre-bagged for convenience.
  • Vendors will be wiping down surfaces with disinfectant frequently.
  • No samples will be allowed at market.
  • As a reminder, we do not allow pets, except service animals, at market.
  • Please stay home if you are sick.

Consider pre-ordering your purchases. Check out our Vendor page for ordering information. Preorders can be picked up at market after 10am.

Can't make it to Market? The Carolina Farm Stewardship Association has an interactive map with farm pick-up locations and more.

The Chapel Hill Farmers' Market is committed to following ADA guidelines for customers exempt from wearing masks by providing alternative shopping options. Please see our vendor profiles or contact vendors directly for contactless pickup options. Check out our Vendor page for ordering information. For further assistance, reach out to the Market Manager at farmersoforange@gmail.com.

We are looking forward to seeing you at market on Saturday.

Market Dog Policy:
We love your furry friends as much as you do but sadly, just like other food-related businesses, we cannot allow dogs at market. Please leave your furry friends at home or tie your dog in our shaded picnic area. Thanks for understanding!
