Currently Accepting Specialty Vendors

Farmers of Orange accepts applications on an on-going basis from farmers, bakers, and artisans who would like to sell at the Chapel Hill Farmers’ Market as specialty vendors. Status as “Specialty Vendor” is used to bring seasonal and under-represented products to the market. Examples for 2012 include tree fruits (apples, pears), blueberries, strawberries, brambles, melons, asparagus, honey, duck meat and duck eggs, goat meet, beer, wine, storage crops, winter crops, and landscape plants.  However, all products will be considered!

To apply as a specialty vendor, please read the Market Rules first, then submit a completed Specialty Vendor Application. Feel free to contact a member of the Board of Directors (on contacts page) or stop by the market Saturday morning or Tuesday afternoon if you have questions.

Thank you for your interest in Farmers of Orange. We look forward to reviewing your application!

Application Amendments

Current members may amend current applications by filing an amendment application.  If you have a product that was not on your current application and does not fit under the scope of your original application, members at any time during the year may submit an application amendment.  For example if your primary product is value added and you would like to add crafts then you would need to submit this application.  However if it is a slight variation on a product that you are already approved for then you do not.  Please direct questions about this to the Market Manager, Lindsay Smith, at farmersoforange@gmail.com.

Amendment applications are treated like specialty vendor applications (unless the timeliness requires quicker action).  Thus they will be presented at the next closest board meeting.  An application fee of $10.00 is required, as may be an inspection for the new product.
